Pima Express is a 5-piece band that plays a mix of country & western, rock, and chicken scratch.
Pima Express was founded in 1980 by Lloyd Brown. The group is based in Bapchule, Arizona, located on the Gila River Reservation, 40 miles south of Phoenix. The band members are related, being brothers, sons, cousins, or nephews. Inspired by all types of music, particularly the Beatles and Hank Williams Sr., Pima Express began performing at local community events and clubs both on and off the Gila River Reservation. This touring road band has built a strong fan base throughout the southwest and beyond. Pima Express has shared the same stage with Dwight Yoakam and Los Lonely Boys. Their release Voice Upon the Wind won the 2003 Native American Music Award (NAMMA(r)) for Best Country Album.
