Luxury Comes to The Verde Valley
Luxury Comes to The Verde Valley

We’re sure many of you have heard by now.

Cliff Castle Casino is going to build a new six-story, high end hotel!

Co-developed by DreamCatcher Hotels, a specialty hotel brand and development company in Memphis, Tennessee, the new luxury hotel will offer 122 rooms with a mix of suites, king bed rooms, double-queen bed rooms; a pool; a multi-purpose event center for entertainment and conferences; a coffee shop; a retail outlet; and a 300-space parking garage. It will be attached to the casino.

Guest rooms are designed to provide guests with a comfortable and upscale lodging experience. Room features will include:

  • The DreamCatcher signature mattress with luxurious Tencel+Plus™ bedding
  • A spa-like raindance shower with an invigorating 120 jets of water
  • A Keurig® coffee maker
  • A media hub with the latest technology and a 43” HD TV

This grand project enables us to really offer something even more special to our Castle Club Members and Guests, and promises to be a game changer for Northern Arizona’s casino industry, as well as bolstering the Verde Valley’s position as a travel destination. Along with the explosive growth of the local wine industry, the development of Old Town Cottonwood, Jerome and Clarkdale, Out of Africa and the historical and cultural sites in the area, Cliff Castle Casino will cement its place as a major area attraction when the new hotel opens in late 2016.

“In our 20 years of operation, Cliff Castle and its benefits to the Nation and the local community has grown tremendously – and is continuing to do so – improving the infrastructure, employment, housing, education, medical access and public safety for our tribal members in the area,” said Thomas Beauty, Chairman of the Yavapai-Apache Nation. “With the addition of the new hotel, we continue a proud tradition of providing a fun environment for the whole family and fostering economic growth for the community. This hotel will bring in an estimated 60,000 plus additional guests each year. Our community will benefit greatly from this expansion. The Nation’s Tribal Council is to be commended for their support of the new hotel.”

The casino is one of the area’s largest employers, currently employing 430 people. That number is expected to grow to 475 employees with the addition of the new hotel.

“We are thrilled to announce this new hotel because we know it will be a one-of-a-kind destination for our guests,” said Cliff Castle General Manager Mary Ketterling. “Adding an affordable luxury hotel to Cliff Castle Casino gives a new level of entertainment experience to our guests, and will help our casino continue to be a place that creates local jobs and attracts visitors to our beautiful Verde Valley community.”

Thanks to you, we’ve been the Number one Casino in Arizona for the last 16 years.

The best is yet to come.

Awesome! This will be a fantastic addition to the community. We do enjoy supporting our local entertainment venues. The recent remodel and updating of the casino is very tasteful and eye pleasing. We look forward to this this endeavor! Any plans for the current hotel?

Hi Kathleen,

The current hotel will remain open as a lower-priced alternative to the new hotel, and to help with overflow during an event. The cool part is, we will finally have a hotel connected to our wonderful casino! Players can go straight from their rooms to the floor. Thank you for checking in with us.

Now we can go to some of the great concerts Cliff Castle has. We live in Prescott Valley and don’t like to drive home after concerts we stayed once at the present hotel and it was horrible. That was a few years ago and we never went back. Now we might give the new hotel a try!

sheila barnett says:

This is wonderful!

We are thrilled and believe this is a very a smart move however, please don’t change what works! What works is the feeling when you walk in to the casino. Please don’t try to be Vegas!

We live in Surprise and drive to your Casino to enjoy what you have instead of others that are a little closer. The others have gotten to big and you loose the feeling that you are special. Your employees treat you like a local they know!

I wish you well and much success.

If you add a hot tub, I will definately be staying a few nights on some weekends in a month. One of the reasons I go to Laughlin, NV is because they have hot tubs – and I use the hot tub for my neck and shoulders, which has problems. If you add a hot tub to the hotel, count on me coming up and staying sometimes! Otherwise, I will just drive up from home and come back, as I often do.

WOW…..We are very excited to hear the great news. Love the feeling at Cliff Castle….not too big….not too Glitzy!!!!! More like Laughlin verses Las Vegas. We do not like Las Vegas. Our community (Camino Del Rey) in Mesa, AZ does a bus trip up to Cliff Castle a couple times a year….lots of FUN. Actually have a bus trip coming up either this month or in Nov. We (my husband & I) have been there ourselves & stayed overnight. Please put us on your guest list for any promotions & updates on the development. Thank you very much.
