The much-anticipated grand opening of our NEW 6 story, 122 room hotel tower took place February 23. The event was well-attended by local politicians, Tribal Dignitaries and Casino Guests. Arizona television personality and youth advocate Mary Kim Titla presided over the event. After a prayer by Manuel Cooley, Jr., Tribal Chairwoman Jane Russell-Winiecki spoke, as did Vice Chairman Larry Jackson Sr. and Casino Manager Danny Gutierrez. Some Tribal elders were introduced, along with Miss Indian Arizona, and the Yavapai-Apache Tiny Tots. Then it was time to cut the ribbon. The Crown Dancers from Whiteriver, led by Manuel Cooley, Jr., performed a dance and blessing ceremony. To wrap up the night we had fireworks, and live entertainment by Lady Krow Road Show, featuring Rez Roots and Apache Spirit, at the Dragonfly. We look forward to many successful years with the New Hotel!
